Overview

Tai Chi is a gentle and flowing form of exercise that originated in ancient China. It involves slow and deliberate movements that are often described as a graceful dance. The purpose of Tai Chi is to promote harmony and balance in both the body and mind. Terry is your Tai Chi guide and says "Tai Chi as a perfectly rounded Holistic system of exercise that has been clinically proven to benefit regular participants physically, emotionally and spiritually. Like meditative, mindful movement, Tai Chi is perfectly suited for people of all ages and abilities to learn how to harness the power of nature and to cultivate their own "Inner Athlete". In Tai Chi, you perform a series of movements, known as forms, while focusing on your breathing and maintaining a calm and relaxed state. The movements are usually continuous, with one flowing smoothly into the next. It's like a slow, rhythmic dance routine. One of the great things about Tai Chi is that it can be practiced by people of all ages and fitness levels. It doesn't require any special equipment, and you can do it almost anywhere. Plus, it's low impact, which means it's gentle on your joints and muscles. Regular practice of Tai Chi has been shown to have many benefits. It can improve your balance, flexibility, and strength. It can also help reduce stress and promote a sense of inner calm and relaxation. Some people even find it helps with their concentration and focus.
