Whitby Wellbeing has established itself as a big hit over the last couple of years, through its blend of wild saunas, cold water therapy, meditation and breathwork sessions, full and new moon experiences, and cacao ceremonies.
Customers includes all age ranges, families, and groups of friends all who want to enjoy the well-documented health and wellness benefits these activities have to offer.
Take your pick from:
Wild saunas
Using a Finnish wood-fired sauna on beaches or by rivers, this experience will leave you feeling rejuvenated, super-relaxed, and energised. Sauna heat therapy has been used for healing and wellness since ancient times. The heat induces relaxation; eases aches and pains; prevents muscle wasting; eliminates toxins; increases endurance; and improves heart health and reduces blood pressure. Saunas may even reduce memory loss!
Breathwork meditation
Taking place in Saltburn, Whitby and online, mediation and breathwork sessions will help you cultivate inner peace, enjoy life, and be fearless in the face of any challenge. The ancient practice of breathwork shift moods from feeling anxious to calm, exhausted to energised, and scattered to focused. Everyone is welcome, especially beginners!
Cold water dipping and swimming
Brilliant ecotherapy, cold water therapy offers the chance to enjoy fresh air away from chlorinated waters, and when done regularly can have an overwhelmingly positive impact on your health. Whether in the sea or at a local waterfall, it’ll instantly boost your mood, improves the immune system and circulation, while easing aches and pains.
Cacao ceremonies
Love chocolate? You’ll love a cacao ceremony. A celebratory ritual, it’s the perfect way to take time out from a stressful and busy world. A natural mood-lifter, cacao is traditionally known as a heart-opening drink and helps us to connect with each another, ourselves, and nature.
During a cacao ceremony you’ll sit, recognise what we you’re grateful for, set an intention, and prepare and drink a cacao beverage. Whitby Wellbeing run regular cacao ceremonies, including monthly new and full moon ceremonies, and you’ll leave feeling energised, grounded, and ready for anything.
Owner, Daniel O’Connor said: “People love the variety of activities, from wild saunas and cold-water dipping to the meditation and breathwork. It’s very much a mood boosting experience for people to enjoy time to recoup from the stresses of everyday life and enjoy the health benefits the sauna, breathwork and cold-water dips offer. While there is no obligation to dip in cold water, we find most people take the plunge!”
